I have enjoyed reading the 4 comic books of the Shahnameh. I think having it in this new genre adds to the already rich meaning of this cultural monument and makes it a very relevant cultural reading for the school age kids.
I have one question from my reading, from Book #1 pg. 11. Who is the young woman? Is that Tahmineh? And if so, how come Sohrab doesn't recognize her?
I appreciate if someone can respond to my question.
Thanks,

Please note that the girl who is featured on Page 11 is not Tahmineh, but Princess Gordafarid. Here is a description of her character which is featured on the website:
Princess Gurdafarid: Daughter of the King of the White Castle – Gazdaham, Brave trained warrior who does not get respect she deserves for her battle skills, because she is a woman. She tests Sohrab's skills while bravely defending her father's castle.
Sohrab not only does not know her, but in fact he is very impressed that she turns out to be such a formidable opponent when he is fighting her. i hope this answer helps.
best regards,

Thank you for your response. After I posted my question I went to Characters and learned about Gurdafarid's character.
I am working at education department at Asian art museum of San Francisco to promote the cultural understanding in school age students about Ancient Persia, the Achaemenid Empire and the Shahnameh and we are very glad to have found these comic books.

Thank you for your wonderful work as not enough people know about the Shahnameh and what a wonderful cultural gem Ferdowsi gave to the world. If we can help in anyway at all please do not hesitate to ask. I am of course in San Francisco myself and the Asian Art Museum Bookstore was one of the first Museums to sell our books! :)
Best regards,
Cameron
