Rostam - Tales from the Shahnameh: Comic Books & Animation

These are some rostam drawings based on shahnameh describes. I myself prefer this kind of clothing, specialy the tiger skin (Babr-e Bayan).

Rostam praying Ahuramazda (God)

Rostam & White Deev (deev-e sefid)

Rostam & White Deev (deev-e sefid)

What do you think?

I think the comic books' drawings of Rostam is very nice but just need the tiger skin as a Cape.

These are great! Thanks for sharing. :)

Any chance you can get Mr. Ghazanfari to enter an illustration in the Simorgh drawing competition hosted on this website? I think he has the stuff to win it all!

on the cover of book 1, Rostam does have a "big cat" skin around his neck.

These are really cool drawings. Does anyone have the contact info for Mr. Ghazanfari?

I am working on a film project and I would love to speak with him or email him.

That Cat wasn't said in shahnameh : Negahbane tan kard babre bayan (He protected his body with tiger skin) / Bepoushid bar gabr, babr (He also wore his Tiger skin on the Armor)

Rakhsh in persian means: Bright & Shining or Luminous
Ferdosi said in Shahnameh that it was yellow with red spots on the body and also had red hairs.
so maybe sth like this:

Rakhsh Raqsh

Looks like these Raqsh's are pretty close to each other! :)

The last book of Rostam comics is realy nice in imaging shahnameh but just a simple adaption from the stories of deevs and damons. But there is no problem, I want it to be continued. A normal work is better than nothing.

We are trying to do our best and hope to introduce more great Shahnameh stories to a much broader global audience. Here is our "White Deev"
