Cameron Brodar Jaan, Salaam u Aliekum,
I lived in Samangan as Peace Corps Volunteer in the 1970s and would regularly take my out of town visitors to Takhte Rustam which you should consider Googling. (with spelling variations) Despite its' Greco Buddhist design and probably 4th Century CE origins, my Samangani neighbors were convinced that this was the Hero's abode when visiting his beloved Tamineh. Tell my Irani brothers than I, a former resident of Turin, (ba taraf e Khorosan) suggest a spelling review for Samegan, to the more proper local pronunciation Samangan. Thank you for your review of our Friends of Afghanistan Blog article describing our Starfish Initiative Program. If we continue our communication I will share an interesting journey that i took through Dare' Zendon, (The Valley Prison) where Djinn are confined to this day, on my way to put on a science seminar for Middle School Science Teachers.
I'm not sure how the Djinn were imprisoned in the Valley but I would wager it had something to do with the heroic exploits of Rostam during his visit (s) to my old hometown. http://afghanconnections.blogspot.com/
Thanks for the attention that you gave to my apocryphal review of the Hero as a child in our article about the Starfish Initiative. Let me know what I can do to help build trust and peace between the West and the peoples of South Central Asia who have laughed, cried and thrilled to the wonderful saga of Rostam, the greatest of all the Heroes.
