Will there ever be a blockbuster Shahnameh Movie made?

There better be, especially consider how gay "300" made Persians look. I say Rostam could take on Hercules, hands down.

Reza Mirkarimi is witting the screenplay of a movie based on Rostam&Sohrab story and will be create soon with a large budget. I hope for its finnishing. but there is making a very nice 3D animation from the same story by Dalvand brothers.

I wish Icould make a tv serial about it ...

You are absolutely right! 300 was very misleading, but because the production of the film was so good, most people (who are unfamiliar with our culture) now think that that fantasy is actually the way the Persians were! Hopefully we can all support anyone who can make a film with our Heroes portrayed in the way that they deserve. :)

It's true, people hear, "from the director of Sin Cit" and just jump at it, not realizing it's exaggerated and just for the action and not historically accurate.

Before there is an epic movie we have to familiarize people with the shahnameh and the effective way is with animation especially geared towards children to penetrate their mindset from a young age.

A series of animations from the interesting stories in 30 minute formats with both farsi and english languages would be great and I believe would sell in the community for $10 a piece in order to recover the costs of the production.

Wow! It's amazing that you are talking about this!
Because That has been my biggest dream ever. I'm aspiring filmmaker and making Shahnameh into a movie is my biggest passion ever. But this is a big dream, and I like to dream big because it gives me more motivation. This has to be done and has to be done "REALLY GOOD". If not better not not it at all. I've seen part of the 3D animation that has been made, but that's not enough as a movie!
The epic movie has to be the best can be made, not just to make something. We don't want to see something like "300", or "Alexander" or other movies that has been made and gave wrong impression of Persians to people who don't know much about them. I hope someone doesn't just go and make a movie about "Shahnameh" just for the sake of it. This is our CULTURE, we are PROUD of it, and we should remain Proud by letting other nation know about it in the best way possible.
I hope the script Reza Mirkarimi is writing is good enough. If I knew earlier taht he's doing it I would talk to him about it last week when I saw him at Academy of Motion Picture's event and I would partner with him.
Shahnameh will be made into one of the blockbuster hit very soon, I promise you this.

How do you think about these images from "The Persian Prince" movie (2003) that is adapted from Rostam & Esfandyar story in the shahnameh:
